Managing
stress is an essential job skill for anyone working in libraries, regardless of your
position. Whether your customers are external patrons or internal staff, there are
mounting pressures for everyone in our current climate. Economic conditions have caused an
increase in library use and greater demand for our services. Yet we're all on tighter
budgets, often with fewer staff and other resources. As frustrations grow, fuses shorten.
This
workshop is a frank and practical series of discussions and activities that will help
library staff say no to stress as they re-energize and re-focus.
