Find Articles

How do I choose the right database for my topic?

Some databases list articles on a wide range of topics and provide the full text of many articles. It's a good idea to begin with these databases:

EBSCO Academic Search Premier
ProQuest

Others provide in-depth coverage of more focused subject areas. The articles found in these databases are likely to be more complex than those in the general databases listed above.

Go to Find Articles: Databases by Subject on the Library's website for a breakdown of which database is appropriate for a particular subject area or discipline. If you do not find a database that looks appropriate for your subject area, please Ask a Librarian.

Consider: Which databases do you think will be best for searching for articles on your topic? Why?
