What's a Call Number?

Call Number

 

A call number is a series of letters and numbers assigned to an item in the library. The EWU Libraries uses the Library of Congress Classification system of call numbers. This system is different from the Dewey Decimal system, but it has the same effect--it ensures that items about the same subjects are near each other.
